YOUTH SPORTS
We believe playing, learning and having fun is the most important part of participating in youth sports. All programs are co-ed and
led by volunteer coaches, unless otherwise noted. Participants will practice once during the week with games on the weekends.
Practice days, times and location will be sent by the Sports Department prior to the start of each season. All players will receive
themed sports specific team jerseys prior to the first games.
*Players may ?play up?but not down in divisions.

GIRLS FIELD HOCKEY ACADEMY
Spring I Season: April 6-June 6
Girls Field Hockey Academy is for girls in grades K ? 2.
Led by Holly Long, participants will learn the
fundamental skills to prepare players for league play.
Coach Long is the former Head Varsity Field Hockey
Coach at Southwestern and is excited to bring her
knowledge of the game to the youth.

The Basketball Skill Development program
(coached by Lawrence Williams). Designed
to help players of all skill levels enhance
their basketball abilities while fostering a
love for the game. Our program focuses on
fundamental skills, tactical understanding,
physical conditioning, and mental
preparation, providing a comprehensive
approach to player development.

Continue the experience into 3rd-6th
grade following
the Field Hockey Academy. Led by a volunteer coach,
participants will practice once during the week and
play games on Saturdays. All held in our field house
at the South YMCA.
Spring I Season: April 6-May 25
Youth Cross-Country Program is for boys and
girls ages 5 - 15 who enjoy running and want to
improve their abilities. Participants will practice
twice per week with an instructor and hold an
end of season meet at the last practice of the
season.
