GROUP FITNESS
Ages 16 and older are welcome to join our group classes. In an effort better serve our members the YMCA offers a year-round fitness
program for members only. No reservations are required. Please refer to our group exercise schedule on our website. Classes /Instructors
are subject to change. All notifications of any class changes are available through our Group Me App.

GROUP FITNESS CLASSES
PARKINSON?S PWR PROGRAM
Barre
This exercise class meets twice a week and is taught by certified PWR instructors! (Parkinson?s Wellness Recovery)
They are introducing functional moves. The benefits of this class include increased flexibility, improved balance,
coordination and endurance, improved working memory, better quality of sleep.
GBURG
Barre blends ballet, Pilates, yoga, and strength
training into a full-body workout. It engages
multiple muscle groups simultaneously, with a
strong focus on core stability.
Barre/Pilates GBURG
This class blends Barre and Pilates, featuring floor
exercises that enhance core strength, flexibility,
posture, and body awareness.

Blends timeless techniques of ballet, Pilates, yoga
and strength training into a barre format desgned
for functional movement and real results.
BODYBALANCE

Les Mills BODYBALANCE is a yoga-based fitness
class designed for everyone, combining elements of
yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates. The class features a
calming soundtrack, simple yoga moves, and
breathing control, making it suitable for all fitness
levels. Participants can expect to improve their
flexibility, core strength, and overall well-being
while reducing stress.

This high-energy martial- arts inspired workout it
totally non-contact and there are no complex
moves to master. You will release
stress, have a blast and feel like a
champ.

Built By Howard Boot Camp
GBURG
Bootcamp combines calisthenics, bodyweight
exercises, interval training, and strength workouts.
It features high-intensity bursts of skipping,
jumping rope, and sprinting for a full-body
challenge.

Similar to Tabata, Flex & Fit uses weights for upper
body (30 seconds, 45 seconds, or 1minute) followed
by (rest time) and a lower body movement for (30
seconds, 45 seconds, or 1minute).
SOUTH
Pilates uses the diaphragmatic breath which prompts
movement whereby engaging and strengthening the
core as well as engaging other muscles while
stretching and reaching for a total body workout. It is
a holistic approach to the mind and body relationship
which lies at the heart of Pilates. Chair Pilates uses
this same system for both the fit and non-fit person
who wants the same benefits as mat Pilates but
without having to get down on the floor.
Chair Yoga

This class is a high volume (reps) with bursts of
cardio.

complete series of seated and standing yoga poses.
Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of
postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and

Monday's at South at 9:30 in the gym with Karen
Mentor. An all- body workout utilizing the chair for
support. Will concentrate on core work, balance
and stability.
Club Ak
45 minutes of full body weight training with cardio
bursts. All fitness levels with modifications as
needed.

Total body workout combining compound and
functional exercises to increase strength,
coordination, balance and overall conditioning.
This 30 minute cardio blast class is designed to
elevate your heart rate, improve cardiovascular
endurance, and burn calories through a variety of
dynamic and engaging exercises. Participants can
expect a variety of class formats to keep them
engaged.

LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a free 12-week program for adult cancer survivors. Trained
YMCA Personal Trainers work with each participant as they transition from treatment to
regaining their physical and emotional strength. Trainers develop individual programs in a

adaptive, easy- to- follow exercises that support
everyday movement. This upbeat class uses light
weights and functional training to help
participants stay active, steady, and
independent? perfect for all fitness levels.

Move slowly through standing, seated, and reclining
poses, holding each to enhance alignment, relaxation,
and calm. Release tension with mindful breathwork

classes that primarily focuses on plyometric exercises,
cardio, and strength training.

A highly motivating and often addictive cycle workout
that lets members burn calories, build cardio fitness,
and dial up the challenge factor to match their fitness
level.
