HEALTH & WELLNESS
The wellness center at the YMCA is a space dedicated to promoting health and fitness for members of all ages and fitness
levels. Our wellness center features a variety of top notch exercise equipment such as cardio machines (treadmills, stationary
bikes, ellipticals), strength training equipment (free weights, weight machines). Our fitness centers also features a variety of
functional fitness tools (kettlebells, resistance bands, stability balls) and a turf area (north or south) to use this equipment. We
offer group exercise classes, personal training, and wellness orientations. It is a welcoming and inclusive environment where
individuals can work towards their overall health and socialize with other members in a supportive community setting.
At the Y, we strive to provide wellness opportunities for all ages. Some age restrictions do apply for children under 18. Our
Wellness center features state of the art cardio equipment with TV?s as well as weight equipment areas including a turf area
for various workouts.

Ages 10-17
All children ages 10-13 are required to register for a Wellness
Orientation to learn how to use the cardio equipment. All
children 14+ are encouraged to register for an orientation for the
cardio and weight equipment. You can register at the front desk.
Children 10-13 are only permitted on the cardio equipment. Ages
14+ are permitted to use the cardio and strength equipment.

Whether you are a competitive athlete or just need to lose a few
pounds, our personal trainers can help you achieve your goals.
Expert advice and personalized attention can provide you with
the edge to overcome obstacles such as motivation and fitness
plateaus.
When a Personal Training Request Form is submitted, the
Training Supervisor will take the time to review the request in
order to assign the best possible Trainer for the clients?needs.
This process could take up to three days before the trainer will
contact the client. Personal Trainers are employees of the YMCA
but do not have pre-scheduled hours. Trainers are on site when
an appointment is made. Appointments are critical for client and
trainer to ensure the best possible day/time to meet. Walk in
requests for same day appointments are not allowed.
Personal Training Sessions
Note: You must cancel with at least 24 hours?notice or agree to
forfeit that session. Packages are not refundable. Individual and
package sessions expire 90 days after purchase date. Sessions
can be packaged as 1, 4, or 12 sessions.

This exercise class meets twice a week and is taught by certified PWR instructors!
(Parkinson?s Wellness Recovery) They are introducing functional moves. The benefits of this
class include increased flexibility, improved balance, coordination and endurance, improved
working memory, better quality of sleep.

Ages 18+
All members are entitled to a 30min wellness orientation with
one of our personal trainers. During this orientation, the
personal trainer will show you how to use the cardio and some of
the strength equipment. You can register at the front desk.

LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA
NORTH
LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a free 12-week program for adult cancer
survivors. Trained YMCA Personal Trainers work with each participant as
they transition from treatment to regaining their physical and emotional
strength. Trainers develop individual programs in a Small Group setting to
help participants:

Build muscle mass and strength
Increase flexibility and endurance
Improve day-to-day life
Prevent unwanted weight changes
Improve energy levels and self esteem
Develop a community of fellow survivors, YMCA staff and members
