GETTYSBURG YMCA CHILD CARE CENTER
Gettysburg YMCA Childcare Center is licensed
through the Office of Child Development and
Early Learning and maintains a Star 4 rating
through the Pennsylvania Key?s quality rating
scale. The program is located at 50 Expedition
Trail in Gettysburg and operates Monday-Friday
from 6:30am ? 5:30pm. The program serves
children ages 8 weeks ? 12 years. Before and
after care is offered for James Getty, VIDA, and
Gettysburg Montessori elementary schools.
Our staff use Teaching Strategies curriculum
and assessment to create hands-on
learning experiences in a safe and nurturing
environment. Through developmentally
appropriate activities, we foster a love for
learning while focusing on children?s growth of
physical, cognitive, social, and self-help skills.
As a CACFP sponsor, children enrolled receive
a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon
snack. In accordance with federal civil rights law
and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil
rights regulations and policies, this institution
is committed to providing equal access and
does not discriminate on the basis of race,
color, national origin, sex (including gender
identity and sexual orientation), disability, age,
or reprisal.
INFANT/ TODDLER PROGRAM
GB CC
We support your child?s development from the
very beginning by providing a safe environment
where your infant can bond with nurturing
caregivers as early as 8 weeks old. Teachers
individualize routines to ensure your baby?s
needs are met on demand; and plan activities
based on each infant?s development to support
milestone achievements. After their first
birthday, children transition to our toddler
classrooms where learning is encouraged
through exploration ? reading, music,
fingerpainting, and more! Self-help skills and
toilet learning are focuses for older toddlers to
prepare them for preschool.
PRESCHOOL GB CC
Children who have celebrated their third
birthday are eligible for preschool classrooms.
Our educational philosophy is that children
learn best through play and hands- on
experiences. Classroom schedules and
routines include a combination of free play
and structured activities to provide children
autonomy while ensure kindergarten readiness.
SCHOOL AGE & SUMMER
CAMP GB CC
We offer before and after care for children
enrolled in neighboring schools. When schools
close due to weather, we offer drop in care
for enrolled children at the school day out
rate. Additionally, we welcome your child to
spend the summer with us! Our Gettysburg
YWCA Childcare Center offers a licensed camp
complete with all the fun of the summer sun and
field trips.
PRE- K COUNTS GB CC
PreK Counts offers free preschool education to
qualifying families. All families are welcome to
apply. In order to qualify, children must turn

Gettysburg School District?s calendar from
8:00am ? 2:00pm; wrap around care may be
